SIX POINTER
With hopefully the frailties and vagaries of the English winter behind us now as we approach British Summer Time during the early hours of this Sunday morning, let's hope come rain or come shine Bees fans will be at Griffin Park in good numbers on Saturday.
For with just six games to go in the 2007/08 season, Brentford Football Club still has a fighting chance of achieving a Play Off place. As Manager Andy Scott points out in his programme notes tomorrow "when I first took over in December for my first game at Wrexham, had we lost we'd have been 2 points above the relegation zone. After the Easter programme, ironically against Wrexham once again and Grimsby, we've given ourselves the chance to get to within 2 points of the Play-Offs!"
Tomorrow's visitors Rochdale are the main stumbling block for The Bees in their search for a top seven place. But as someone once said: "it's a funny old game", and while points are still available, and the possibility remains, Brentford's season is still alive and deserves supporting.
So instead of checking the weather forecast and the TV schedules, check the rail and bus timetables instead or put TW8 0NT into your "Sat Nav".
The game kicks off at 3pm but more importantly the ground opens from about 1.40pm. Tea bars and bars selling alcohol at different points around the ground are open from that time as is The Hive on the Braemar Road side of the ground which is open to all home fans and offers hot and cold food. There is also an "early gate" on the Braemar Road side of the ground which is open from 12.30pm.
If you arrive in good time you can also pop in to The Bees Superstore in Braemar Road which opens from 12 noon and tomorrow is offering special discounts of 20% to all season ticket holders and a special Draw for lady season ticket holders with watches as prizes.
Saturday is also Ladies Day at Brentford with England Internationals Rachel Yankey and Kelly Smith in attendance to watch the Bees play Rochdale before the post match entertainment when the Brentford Ladies play some exhibition games from 5.30.All that at no extra cost.
So, whatever your take on this season, the fact remains, as we stand The Bees have a chance of the Play Offs thus making the game against Rochdale a six pointer. Show you're a Bees fan and be here on Saturday. This could be our most important game of the season and your support could be crucial
