At half time on Saturday, the four Brentford fans making the 196 mile trip on foot to Stockport, will begin their walk with a much shorter journey around the perimeter of the hallowed Griffin Park turf.

Accompanied by a couple of willing (hopefully) accomplices they will be encouraging the crowd to make a donation by carrying several buckets around the pitch to collect any monies that fans would like to contribute.

"If we can collect just £1 from every Brentford fan at the game, it would be such a boost not only to the fundraising target but to the morale of the walkers. To know that we had thousands thinking of us, supporting us and wanting us to succeed would be a huge incentive and inspiration" says Natasha Judge, Bees United Board member.

Then at about 5.30pm the four walkers will set off. Chris Tate, Peter Maynard, Claire McNicholls and Natasha Judge will be following this route.

It would be fantastic for other Brentford fans who may like to join them at any point during the walk. Certainly it is likely that they will be joined by a Stockport County fan at some point on their trek. Messages of support are also encouraged and can be sent to 07951 292148. There will be a lot of miles walked, particularly during the latter part of the week and any help would be greatly appreciated.

There will be regular updates on the Bees United website and here on the official site, which will chart the walkers progress and hopefully some photographs will also wing their way back during the week.

The walkers also ask that if you are free to stay after the game and see them off that you do so, your support will be invaluable.

Please remember to bring a spare pound with you, it could make such a difference to our Club and the walkers would be enormously grateful.

Thank you for your continued support.
